Some light falls into the trunk as you lift the
heavy lid, your eyes falling to a smaller box. You pick it up carefully
and set it down on the floor. Opening it slowly, your eyes catch a small
gleam from inside. You push the lid back all the way and discover an
impressive gun laying inside.  It looks as if it was well taken care of, but hasn't
been used for a very long time. You place the box aside andlooking to see
what else is in the box. Reaching deeper into the trunk, your fingers
brush against something flat and cold. You pull out a picture frame which
contains a grainy picture. Some words on the back say "Dr. Crescent and Prof. Hojo".  As you move to set the picture back into the trunk,
something slips off of that back of it and hits the floor. You reach down
and pick up the thin object and discover it is an ID card. It must've belonged to the Turk who came to Nibelheim with the scientists.
 The pieces are starting to fit in the puzzle.. Now if
you could only get to the basement, maybe you could figure out this mystery.
You repack the trunk and then rise from your spot. On a glance around the
small room, you discover a crawlspace not too far away. You walk over and
find that it isn't a crawlspace, but a ladder.. And it leads down.. It looks
much easier to handle than the chain you used to get up here. |
